THE FINEST SHOW FROM NEIL YOUNG'S SHORT WINTER TOUR WITH CRAZY HORSE • Following the release of the Stills-Young band's Long May You Run album - the Stephen Stills / Neil Young joint project released in September 1976 - the tour the pair had planned was aborted after 19 days when Young dropped out suddenly, leaving Stills to complete the tour as a solo-jaunt. • Instead, Neil Young hit the road with the recently re-formed Crazy Horse, beginning on October 23rd '76 and ending a month later on November 24th. • Featuring shows played across the United States, the penultimate concerts on November 22nd, were performed in Boston at that city's Music Hall venue, where both an early and late show were witnessed.
And while the complete tour remains one of Young's most revered and favourite tours of all, the late show Neil and the mighty Horse played in Boston on 22/11/76, is generally considered the tour's highlight. Featuring cuts from his last solo-album Zuma alongside tracks yet to be released on upcoming records American Stars and Bars and Comes A Time, plus songs from planned albums by then aborted and not released for many more years - plus a handful of NY classics from earlier records - this show remains a much-favoured event among fans. Recoded for live FM radio broadcast, the concert is released here in its entirety for the first time.
