YHAM is a jazz quartet formed on the initiative of Yoann Haméon, saxophonist and composer from Seine et Marnais, also a teacher in the conservatories of the Melun-Val de Seine agglomeration. For this first personal project, he wanted to surround himself with talented musicians with whom he has forged musical relationships for many years: Jérôme Picard is on electric guitar, Philippe Monge on double bass and Ken Parassouramin on drums.
"This second project came naturally to me in order to present an exclusively original repertoire inspired by dreams, inexhaustible sources of inspiration for artists. Confined to our homes during an interminable pandemic episode, we developed a little morning ritual in my home which consisted of telling each other and analyzing each of our dreams, with the simple objective of creating a space of openness and of dialogue towards our reciprocal phantasmagorical worlds. These sincere exchanges on the edge of the intimate and the reflections that resulted from them, have developed a creative space where the notion of dreams and inner journey, introspection and questioning have intertwined to lead to this musical project. To all dreamers.
I borrow with delight this sentence from the author of The Little Prince "Make your life a dream and your dream a reality". Let it be for you, if you wish, like a mantra that illuminates your existence.
