Learn techniques for creating a still-life drawing through a step-by-step process that teaches realistic drawing skills.
This course incorporates skill-based drawing and design principles that guide students through the process of creating successful still life drawings. The lessons are broken down into a series of small concepts that build on each other so that students can practice each concept individually before incorporating it into their overarching still life project. Students will increase their visual literacy by learning techniques for finding accurate line angles, evaluating nuanced values, observing proportions, identifying plane and light breaks, and evaluating the design strength of a still life setup. Bonus footage is available at the end of many lessons for art teachers who wish to implement this material in K-12 classrooms.
