Val Starr & The Blues Rocket exploded on the Sacramento blues scene in 2011, and have been exciting northern California blues lovers ever since. Their musical repertoire features original blues boogies, ballads, sultry shuffles and up-tempo swing.
Val Starr is an extraordinary singer and songwriter who writes tales gleaned from everyday life, love, friends, and family. She is an explosive performer who always brings the audience to their feet and out onto the dance floor with blues that lift you up! The Blues Rocket band is made up of the best of the best of California blues musicians.
Val Starr & the Blues Rocket have shared the stage and have future shows with many top blues artists including Rick Estrin & The Night Cats, Chris Cain, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Arbess Willliams, Laurie Morvan, Daniel Castro, Dennis Jones Band, Kyle Rowland Band, Leah Tysse, and Mick Martin. The band was also a finalist in the 2013 Sacramento IBC Competition.
Val Starr & The Blues Rocket released their first CD, "Cool Ride," in 2012 to rave reviews. Their sophomore CD, entitled "Blues Away," was released to radio in June, 2014.
