Once you are finished designing in SolidWorks, you simply use Mastercam for SolidWorks to program toolpaths. The toolpaths are applied directly to your SolidWorks modelin their native environment. Design changes are certainly expected, and with Mastercam for SolidWorks it's as simple as clicking 1 button. Once a design change happens, the toolpaths that are currently used are marked dirty and simply clicking on the Rebuild button automatically updates the toolpath to reflect the updated design. Since the toolpaths are fully associative to the geometry, toolpaths can be updated when needed.
Mastercam for SolidWorks supports both Part and Assembly environments, as well as configurations.
