Dutch trumpetplayer Teus Nobel decided to honor his musical heritage on his new jazz album LEGACY (Flyin' High Records), with a special written composition for each of his personal heroes. Don't expect covers or imitations; supported by a completely renovated quintet, Teus takes signature marks of legends like Miles Davis, Roy Hargrove and Woody Shaw, to mold it into a fresh and wayward new sound. Ofcourse, dutch trumpet legends are not forgotten, as heared in 'Suite for Jarmo' (Jarmo Hoogendijk) and 'Mr. Shiny Pants' (Eric Vloeimans). Teus' fusion-oriented debut album FLOW was widely cheered by jazz critics and radio shows, resulting in being called out 'Radio 6 Soul & Jazz Talent'. For LEGACY, Teus switched to a more acoustic band setting and shows a more raw trumpet sound.
