Produced by Laurent Cugny and Daniel Richard for L'orchestre National de Jazz. Laurent Cugny - Bandleader. Ranks alongside George Gruntz as prime European contemporary composer, leader. His large orchestra is remniscent of Gil Evans big band in final stages; his pieces have quirky, unpredictable quality, as do his recordings. Album enregistré en studio et en live en 1994 & 1995. Lucky Peterson rejoins l'orchestre sur le morceau N° 4. Personnel et infos détaillés dans le livret. L'ONJ période Cugny est, pour tout amateur de musique, de Jazz, de big band, Ã* posséder dans sa discothèque. Et s'il fallait choisir (mais je ne suis pas objectif, ce fut mon premier disque de l'orchestre), In Tempo arriverait en tête des charts.
Un mélange entre studio et Live, des morceaux Ã* tomber Ã* la renverse :
Un Right Off qui démarre sur les chapeaux de roue avec un Stefano Di Battista qui se révèle, un Thème from Joy House par un Lucky Peterson au sommet Ã* l'orgue pour faire monter la pression, un who's been talkin' pour faire virevolter ces dames, et un cobalt pour terminer en haut, tout lÃ* haut. Indispensable.
