BackTrack - GNU / Linux-LiveCD, which arose as a result of the merger WHAX and Auditor Security Collection. The project created Mati Aharoni (Mati Aharoni) and Max Moser (Max Moser). It is intended primarily for testing for safety.
This version has been prepared specifically for the conference Black Hat.
Black Hat Conference - Conference on Computer Safety, bringing together many different people interested in information security. Attend the Conference as representatives of federal agencies and corporations, as well as hackers. Briefings are regularly held in Las Vegas, Barcelona (formerly Amsterdam), and Tokyo. The event, designed specifically for Federal Services, held in Washington, DC.
The distribution is designed for security testers. Supplied as a LiveUSB and the liveCD, the user is only required to boot from the media containing the BackTrack. Also there is the possibility of installing the system on the hard drive (requires approximately 2.7 GB). Currently, the distribution includes tools for software and technical expertise. Work is also underway on the support of hieroglyphic Asian languages.
Note: The latest version of BackTrack comes in the form of ISO-image and the image for VMWare. In the special versions for LiveUSB is no longer necessary, because Now it is easy to install on a flash drive to produce with the help of tools like Unetbootin or manually (see manual). If you use BackTrack on a virtual machine, be aware that any virtualization software can only work with plug-in USB wireless adapters with both physical (real) devices.
