Band-in-a-Box® is so easy to use! Just type in the chords for any song using standard chord symbols (like C, Fm7, or C13b9), choose the style you'd like, and Band-in-a-Box® does the rest... Band-in-a-Box automatically generates a complete professional quality arrangement of piano, bass, drums, guitar and strings in a wide variety of popular styles. Version 2016 of Band-in-a-Box for Mac offers many exciting new features! The Chord Sheet has been completely redesigned with a new look, "layers," and customization. A Fake Sheet mode on the Chord Sheet and Lead Sheet allows you to see or add repeats, 1st/2nd endings, DS/DC al Coda, and more.
The StylePicker is redesigned and enhanced with great new features including sizable window, columns sort, selectable font size, 4-bar preview of the current song, automatic intelligent sorting of "best style" for the current song, and quick filter of the list. Intelligent Style Suggestion: Type the name of a familiar song title in StylePicker and Band-in-a-Box will list styles whose genre, feel and tempo are similar to that song! Load & Save MusicXML support. Guitar capo support added to on-screen guitar display and notation. You can now hear Band-in-a-Box singing, with built-in support for the popular online vocal synth "Sinsy." Export Lists of Styles, RealTracks or RealDrums. Staccato melody function added. RealTracks pushes now happen a little later, sounding more musical, and the timing is tempo dependent, and much more!
Band-in-a-Box® 2016 for Mac Update - Build 158. This patch will update Band-in-a-Box® 2016 to build 158 from any previous 2016 build. You need to have Band-in-a-Box® 2016 (build 120 or higher) installed for this update to work. If you are updating an external PG Music hard drive, make sure to choose the correct destination volume (install on specific hard drive).
Summary of Changes for Build 158 (April 25, 2017)
• Fixed: The main window's zoom button was not behaving properly.
• Fixed: Double-clicking on the main window's title bar was not triggering a proper resize.
• Fixed: If pasting multiple lines of text into a layer, the last line would be skipped.
• Fixed: Keyboard input stops working when opening the Plugins window.
• Fixed: Cut/Copy/Paste was not working by hot-keys in editable text layers.
• Fixed: Cut/Copy/Paste was not working by hot-keys in note-based lyric editing.
• Fixed: Choosing to open previous or next song would not ask to save the current song when necessary.
• Fixed: The Control-/= hot keys for setting relative tempo did not work during playback.
• Fixed: When choosing to exclude plugins, the first item in the list would be missing from the plugin_list_Exclude.txt file.
• Fixed: The Copy From... To... dialog was not updating the bar numbers according to the selected region on the chord sheet.
• Fixed: Previewing a chord on the chord sheet (shift+return) was not entering the chord first, so the last chord was previewed instead.
• Fixed: Some hot keys were not working if in the notation window (eg. command+3 to mute bass, control+T to change screen mode, etc.).
• Fixed: When opening an XML file, the current song would be erased if the user clicked Cancel in the file open dialog.
