OSGeo-Live - this is a "live" disc as a DVD, the image recording to USB-drive and the image for a virtual machine. Based on Linux-distro Xubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Contains updated to the newest version of the open / free software for working with spatial data (GIS, databases, web-mapping, etc.). All applications are written in java, moved to OpenJDK 7. All applications are configured for immediate productive work on almost any modern computer. In the distribution, includes brief descriptions of all the geo-applications ("quick start"), a set of heterogeneous data. Uploaded by Snorgared.
System requirements for LiveDVD:
Processor - 1GHz or higher i686
RAM - 768Mb, 1Gb for a better run Java applications and more.
3-button mouse for Mac users.
The difference in the distribution of CDs:
On the drive osgeo-live-6.0.iso are installers for Windows and Mac, the second disk are missing. This is the only difference between them.
