Requirements
A physical or cloud-based machine with Ubuntu Linux 20.04 or higher
A domain name with access to DNS records
A basic working knowledge of Linux commandline
A basic working knowledge of SQL queries

Description
Use your Ubuntu server to set up a blog that runs on your own server, along with Matomo for analytics and Mautic for managing mailing lists and campaigns. No Google Analytics. No MailChimp. Everything works on your server. Chapter by chapter you will learn how to install each component and get them to talk to each other so that you have seamless integration.

The course teaches you how to install WordPress over a LAMP stack so that you don't have to depend on third-party blog platforms like Blogger, Tumblr or commercial WordPress.

You will learn how to install Matomo and how to gather analytics from your WordPress blog and then read reports from Matomo's dashboard and report sections. Learn to detect your reader's location and device for effective analytics.

Finally, you will learn how to install Mautic and how to make forms in WordPress that allow a reader to subscribe to mailing lists on Mautic. You will learn to use Mautic to create newsletters and campaigns. You will learn how to take action based on readers' actions in response to your campaigns. This will enable you to target your readers and monetise your hard work.

All the data will be stored on MySQL databases installed alongside the three components mentioned above.

Time to free your precious blog from third-party whims.
